Oil Rig Job¶
Particularities¶
- the Oil Rig job is a safe job with a medium to high difficulty, which can be practiced even alone but it is recommended to be performed with a minimum of 2, 3 or 4 players.
- you will need a driving license as well as a navigation one to do this job.
- the job has multiple tasks that can be completed along the way, which increases its difficulty.
Team Formation¶
- to be able to invite another player to the team they must be near the starting point of the job.
- the one who initiates the job will see at the bottom Nearby Players where they will be able to click to initiate an invitation (image #3).
- the invited player will receive a notification on screen to accept or decline.
- after accepting the invitation the player will appear as part of the team and the job can be started.
Picking up the Containers¶
- on the minimap you will see with blue dots the locations of the containers that must be loaded into the boat (image #4).
- go with the job vehicle to the container location and raise or lower the platform of the vehicle close to the container to be able to lift it.
- the container can be attached to the platform by pressing the E key (image #5).
- the container must then be transported to the boat and when the frame becomes green it can be stored in the boat by pressing the E key again (image #6).
- after you have loaded all the containers in the boat you can board with all your team colleagues into the boat to head towards the platform in the sea.
- be careful not to accidentally press the E key in the boat because that is the job's stop point.
- to drive the boat press the F key at the top of the boat.
The Platform¶
- once arrived with the boat at the platform it must be parked at the visually indicated location and anchored so the waves do not move it.
- anchoring will be done by pressing the E key at its parking spot.
- get out of the boat and climb the stairs to the upper part of the platform.
Tasks¶
Moving the Containers¶
- on the platform you will have several tasks to perform, including using the crane to pick up the containers from the boat and put them on the platform.
- the crane can be accessed by pressing near it on the E key.
- once boarded into the crane you will see on screen the legend of its controls explaining how you can use it.
- the crane must be lowered to the boat to grab the containers from it.
- you can move the crane on rails and change the camera to be able to better see the side towards the boat.
- attaching the container to the crane is done by pressing the E key when the frame becomes green.
- the container must then be lifted from the boat and positioned up on the platform (image #10).
- to detach the container press the E key at the moment the frame becomes green.
Emptying the Containers¶
- the containers brought from the boat must be opened by pressing the E key and inside them you will find multiple objects (image #11).
- these objects must be picked up and placed at the marked locations by also pressing the E key.
Welding the Equipment¶
- on the platform you will find multiple locations where the equipment must be welded (image #13).
- you will have to perform a simple welding procedure, holding down left click over the dotted lines and moving the mouse from one end to the other.
- when all welds have been performed the procedure has ended and you can move on.
Drilling¶
- one of the most important tasks on the platform is drilling for oil (image #15).
- to drill, you must hit the location of the moving pipe with the location of the bottom pipe to couple them.
- to release the moving pipe and couple it with the bottom one you must press the space key.
- you can extract oil up to a capacity of 100% without having any problem.
- you can choose to extract above 100% up to a maximum of 150% with the risk of explosion and loss of the entire amount of accumulated oil.
- if the drilling rig explodes the job can no longer continue.
- we do not recommend this risk because it is too high, but if you want to risk it is strictly your choice.
Completion¶
- the completion of the job is done by descending from the platform on the stairs, back to the boat and returning to the job's location to end the job.
